Our self-service kayak rental station is located at Boat Landing #9 on Caldron Falls in Crivitz, Wisconsin.
At our unmanned kayak rental station, you can easily rent a kayak whenever you want to get out on the water – just book, unlock, and go. Flexible and convenient, on your terms.

1. Booking

Click the book button and select date and time to see available products. After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Fifteen minutes before your booked time, you will receive an email with all necessary details.

2. Open Lock

Once you’re at the kayak station, press any button on the lock to wake it. While the lock is "awake" use the PIN code from your booking email to open the kayak's lock and release the cable. A second PIN code will be used to release the lock on the locker for paddles and life vests.

3. Use

After removing the cable from the kayak, carefully remove the kayak from the rack. Two people are recommended to remove and carry the kayak to the water. Be sure to follow all Wisconsin DNR boating regulations while using the kayak.

4. Return

When you're done, lock your gear in the same manner in which you found it, using the same PIN code to reopen the lock. Confirm your return via the link in your confirmation email.

Basic kayak tips and safety

If you are a first time kayaker, here are a couple important things to consider. Although a Wisconsin boaters certification is not required, it is highly recomended to read and understand WI Boaters Regulations. This will give you an understanding of the waterway rule others will following while on the water.

Technique tips and Safety

Before using the kayak, take a moment to check that it’s in good condition – look over the top, bottom and side for any damage (if there is, please let us know). Start by carrying the kayak to shallow area where you can straddle it over the seat. Then with one hand on the kayak slowly sit down and bring your feet into the kayak. Before you head out on your adventure now is the time to make any seat adjustment you may need, make sure you are comfortable with the kayak and make sure your life jacket is on. Terms and Conditions
Peshtigo River Rentals Rental PolicyAll participants must agree to follow the rules described below. It is the responsibility of the primary account holder to ensure that each individual of their party has read and understands this document prior to using any of the equipment.
• The Primary Renter/Account holder must be at least 18 years old.
• All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Personal Floatation Device (PFD) are provided and must be worn at ALL TIMES.
• Participants must obey weight limits listed for the particular watercraft they are using. (kayak – 275 lbs, double kayak – 425 lbs, hard paddle board – 230lbs, inflatable paddle board – 300lbs)
• No participant may be under the influence of or in possession of alcohol or drugs while using the rental equipment.
• I understand that weather is unpredictable, and conditions may change at any time. In the event that severe weather (high winds, cold, thunderstorms, severe rain, etc) is occurring, I will return my equipment to the rental station immediately and take shelter if necessary.
• I understand that this service is use-at-your-own-risk. There are no lifeguards or other staff supervising my activities and I am solely responsible for my own safety and the members of my party.
• In a circumstance where a staff member does make a reasonable request, I agree to obey the request.
• Each participant is prohibited from allowing any third party persons to use the equipment in any capacity whatsoever.
• Equipment may only be used on the body of water and Park in which the rental station is located. Each participant agrees will not transport the equipment via vehicle or other to any body of water
• I agree to follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations pertaining to the use of watercraft. (info can be found at www.boat.ed.com)
• I understand that during the duration of my rental period, I am responsible for all equipment that I have leased from the rental station. Any damages to equipment may result in additional charges.
• I agree to assess all equipment prior to taking on the water, and report any damages. I agree to return equipment in the same condition and acknowledge that failure to do so may result in additional charges to the primary renter.
• I agree to return all equipment to the rental station by the end of my rental period. Failure to do so may result in additional late fees. (2 x hourly rate)
• I agree to take responsibility for properly locking up all equipment when returned to the rental station. Failure to properly lock equipment may result in a locking fee (up to $10 per lock). Additionally, leaving the equipment unlocked may expose the equipment to possible theft or misuse and may result in fines up to the full value of the equipment that is stolen.
• I agree as the Primary Renter to take full responsibility for all participants in my party. As such, I take full responsibility for any and all damages to the equipment, hardware or rental station and injuries caused to any persons in my group or others related to the actions of participants in my group.
• I, as the Primary Renter, agree to pay any and all fees, fines or charges resulting from this rental agreement.

Rental Period

2. Extensions:
• Extensions to rental duration are not available through the website. Please return your equipment before your rental period expires.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off
1. Self-Serve Stations:
• Equipment can be picked up and dropped off at our self-serve stations as indicated on our website.
• You will receive instructions and access codes via email sent you from peshtigoriverrentals.net for accessing the equipment.
2. Inspection:
• Please inspect the equipment upon pick-up. Report any existing damage or issues to peshtigoriverrentals.net immediately.
• You are responsible for the equipment during the rental period and will be held liable for any damage or loss.
Equipment Usage
1. Safety:
• Ensure you are familiar with the operation and safety guidelines for kayaks..
• Always wear appropriate safety gear, including life jackets for kayaking.
2. Restrictions:
• Do not use the equipment in unsafe conditions or areas prohibited by local regulations.
• You must adhere to all local laws and regulations regarding the use of kayaks.
Returns and Late Fees
1. On-Time Return:
• Equipment must be returned to the designated drop-off location by the end of the rental period.
• Late returns will incur additional charges as specified in the rental policy.
2. Condition:
• Equipment should be returned in the same condition as it was at pick-up, barring normal wear and tear.
• Additional cleaning or repair fees may apply if the equipment is returned excessively dirty or damaged.
Cancellations and Refunds
1. Cancellation Policy:
• Cancellations can only be made 5 days prior to your rental time. To do so call one of our customer service lines at 920-980-6407 or 920-980-6408 and you will receive a full refund..
2. Refunds:
• Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5-7 business days.
• No refunds will be issued for early returns, unused rental time or bad weather.
Liability and Insurance
1. Liability:
• Peshtigoriverrentals.net is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages incurred during the use of our equipment.
• Renters are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others while using the equipment.
2. Insurance:
• Renters are encouraged to have their own insurance coverage. PeshtigoRiverRentals.net does not provide insurance for rental equipment or users.
